A LITTLE INTRO
Hello! This summer, I’ll be spending two months in Southeast Asia spreading the gospel and serving others, and I couldn’t be more excited to travel to both Indonesia and Thailand on mission for the Lord. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Alex Wilson. I’m 19 years old and from Canyon, Texas. I’m currently a sophomore at Texas A&M University, studying Agribusiness and minoring in Psychology. I’m also a sophomore at Liberty University, studying Bible Studies with a concentration in Humanitarian Action and Human Rights.

MY STORY
I want to share a little about my journey and the heart behind this mission. I grew up going to church, but for a long time, I didn’t have a personal faith of my own. High school was a rollercoaster of ups and downs, and it was through those struggles that I realized true joy and peace only come from a real, personal relationship with God.

There’s a big difference between knowing about God and truly knowing God. I used to know a lot about God but when I made the shift in my life to know Him personally, everything changed. I learned to put God first, lean on Him for healing, and trust Him enough to say, "God, I can’t do this, but I know You can." Since then, my perspective on myself, others, and the world around me has completely transformed. Going from hopeless to hopeful has changed me in ways I never could have imagined, and it’s made me realize just how truly worth living life is.

I wouldn’t change a thing about my story. My greatest prayer is that I can help someone else walk through what I did and choose to fight with God on their side from the start. Once you experience the peace of the Holy Spirit and see the depth of God’s love for each of us, you’ll never be the same.

MY WHY
With that said, I want to share why I’m so passionate about this mission. For as long as I can remember, I’ve told my grandma that I wanted to be a world traveler when I grew up. I’ve always been fascinated by distant places, different cultures, and what life is like in various corners of the world. There’s always been a pull on my heart to see beyond my own small corner of the world—and what better reason to go abroad than to share the good news of Jesus?

I am a firm believer in sharing what changed your life with the life you have been given. That’s exactly why I am so excited to be able to take the incredible news of Jesus Christ to Southeast Asia. The region has a deep need for the gospel, and many people there have never heard the Good News. Both Indonesia and Thailand are countries where Christianity is a minority religion, and the opportunity to be a part of God’s work in these places is something I truly believe I’m called to do.

MY HOPE
This will be a transformative experience—one that I know will last a lifetime. During my time in Southeast Asia, I’ll have the privilege of serving the people by partnering with local communities in a variety of ways. From outreach and evangelism to community service projects, I’ll be involved in activities that help meet the practical and spiritual needs of those I encounter. My goal is to serve in ways that truly make an impact, whether it’s through tangible support or simply sharing the love of Christ.

I also know that I’ll learn so much along the way—about their languages, customs, ways of life, and, most importantly, more about who God is. I’m excited to deepen my relationship with the Lord and learn to rely on Him through the unfamiliar circumstances I’ll face. My prayer is that God will open my eyes to the needs around me, give me the courage to boldly live out my faith, and guide me in every step of this journey.

SUPPORT!
As I begin this chapter of my life, I would be so grateful for your prayers and support, both as I prepare for this journey and while I am serving overseas. First and foremost, please keep me in your prayers! I have full faith that the Lord will be with me every step of the way, and I would love for you to join me in lifting this mission up to Him in prayer.

Please pray that I will have the strength, wisdom, and guidance to serve to the best of my ability. Pray that I’ll lean on the Lord in moments of difficulty and rejoice in Him when things are going well. Pray for the health and safety of myself and my team—that travel would go smoothly and all our physical needs are met. Pray that as opportunities arise to share my faith and show the love of God that I will be given the right words to say. I also ask for prayers for the people of Southeast Asia that I’ll encounter: that their hearts and minds would be open to the gospel of Jesus Christ, that we would build meaningful relationships, and that they would experience peace and joy in their daily lives.

In addition to your prayers, I would like to invite you to partner with me financially in this mission. Over the next few months, I will be fundraising to cover the costs of my trip, and I am trusting that God will provide the resources needed to make this journey possible. If you feel led to contribute in any way, your support will make a meaningful impact and help cover my needs in Southeast Asia. This will include travel, living expenses and anything I will need during my time there. If you would like to support me financially, my funding link is attached to this blog page. Please know that I’m incredibly grateful to anyone who chooses to support me in this way, but there is absolutely no pressure or obligation. Whether you choose to give or simply follow along with me in prayer, your support means so much.

Thank you for all the prayers and support that I know God will use to change countless lives!

WHAT’S NEXT
This blog will be where I share my journey—both in the months leading up to my trip and once I’m in the field. I’d love for you to follow along to hear about my experiences, the people I meet, everything I learn, and what the Lord is teaching me. I’m so excited for what’s ahead, and I can’t wait to see what God will do.

If you’ve made it this far—thank you so much for taking the time to read and for your support, in whatever form it takes. Please keep me in your prayers, and let me know if there’s any way I can pray for you!

Thanks and God bless!

Alex
